The quality standards for wax based carbon ribbon mainly include the following aspects:
1、 Specifications, dimensions, and deviations
The common specifications and dimensions of wax based carbon ribbon include widths such as 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 80mm, 90mm, 100mm, 110mm, etc., and a length of generally 300m, with clear regulations on the deviation of width and length. For example, the deviation of width usually does not exceed ± 1mm, while the deviation of length is usually expressed in percentage form.
2、 Appearance quality
The appearance quality of wax based carbon ribbon is also one of the important quality indicators. Specific requirements include:
The surface should be free of stains, impurities, unevenness, wrinkles, damage, and obvious scratches.
Scratches on the end face of the film roll. The maximum displacement of the protruding and recessed parts of the film roll end face is not allowed to exceed 0.5mm.
No joints are allowed.
The width of the white road (where transparent patterns resembling straight lines appear on the carbon ribbon due to production defects or other reasons) shall not exceed 0.3mm, and the cumulative width shall not exceed 3m per 100m; The diameter of white spots (transparent spots on carbon ribbon caused by production defects or other reasons) shall not exceed 0.5mm, and shall not exceed 2 per meter; The width of stripes (dark patterns resembling straight lines on carbon ribbons caused by production defects or other reasons) shall not exceed 1mm, and shall not accumulate more than 5m per 100m.
The elasticity of the film roll (Shore A) should be between 85 and 95.
3、 Performance requirements
The performance requirements of wax based carbon ribbon mainly include the following aspects:
Horizontal thermal shrinkage rate: should be ≤ 5%.
Longitudinal tensile strength: should be ≥ 190MPa. This indicator is measured through a specific experimental method, using a rectangular specimen with a length of 150mm and a width of (15 ± 0.1) mm, a fixture spacing of 100mm, and a tensile speed of (100 ± 10) mm/min. Five longitudinal specimens are measured separately.
Printing noise value: should be ≤ 90dB (A). This indicator was obtained by using a commonly used printer to print at a normal printing temperature of 152.4mm/s (6 inches/s) and measuring it with a noise detector.
Impression clarity: It should be clear and complete. This is usually evaluated by visually assessing the printing clarity of the letter F on the 7th.
Barcode quality: It should comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T18348.
Friction resistance: should be ≥ 10 times. This indicator is tested using a printing ink layer wear resistance tester, with a pressure of 10N, at a rate of 60 times/min and a stroke of 60mm. The measurement ends when the handwriting begins to blur after friction.
Color density: The color density of black carbon ribbon should be ≥ 1.6. This indicator is measured by measuring the reflected color density using a color density meter.
4、 Limit of toxic and harmful substances
The limit of toxic and harmful substances in wax based carbon ribbon should comply with the requirements of relevant standards, such as SJ/T 11363. These standards specify the limit requirements for toxic and harmful substances in electronic information products to ensure the safety and environmental friendliness of the products.
In summary, the quality standards for wax based carbon ribbon cover multiple aspects such as specifications, dimensions and deviations, appearance quality, performance requirements, and limits of toxic and harmful substances. These standards ensure the quality and stability of wax based carbon ribbons, meeting the needs and expectations of customers.
