During the transportation of wax based carbon ribbons, the following points should be noted to ensure that their quality and performance are not affected:
1、 Packaging protection
Integrity: Wax based carbon ribbons usually have their own original packaging, and before transportation, it is necessary to ensure that the packaging is intact, free from damage, deformation, and well sealed. The original packaging generally provides good protection for carbon ribbons, such as preventing dust, moisture, and mechanical damage.
Special packaging: For high-end or specialized wax based carbon tapes with special packaging requirements, such as anti-static packaging, moisture-proof packaging, etc., it is necessary to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of these special packaging. For example, some carbon tapes are very sensitive to static electricity. If the anti-static measures inside the packaging are damaged, it may cause the carbon tapes to adsorb dust or generate electrostatic discharge during transportation, thereby damaging the carbon tapes.
2、 Reinforcement and buffering
Additional packaging: Consider whether additional packaging reinforcement is needed based on the transportation distance and method. In case of long-distance transportation or poor transportation environment (such as poor road conditions, frequent loading and unloading, etc.), the carbon belt can be wrapped with bubble film, foam plastic and other cushioning materials on the basis of the original packaging to ensure that the carbon belt will not be damaged due to collision during transportation.
Batch transportation: For wax based carbon ribbons transported in bulk, multiple packaged carbon ribbons can be placed in cardboard boxes or wooden crates. Fill the box with enough fillers, such as scraps of paper and foam particles, so that the carbon belt will not shake in the box. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the strength of the box is sufficient to withstand the pressure and collision during transportation.
3、 Temperature and humidity control
Temperature: Wax based carbon ribbon has certain temperature requirements, and the ideal transportation temperature is generally between -5 ℃ and 45 ℃, but it is best to be between 5 ℃ and 35 ℃. Excessive temperature may cause the ink on the carbon ribbon to melt or deteriorate, affecting the printing quality; If the temperature is too low, it may make the carbon ribbon brittle and prone to fracture. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid exposing the carbon ribbon to extreme temperature environments during transportation.
Humidity: The relative humidity of the transportation environment should be maintained between 20% and 85%, but preferably between 45% and 85%. High humidity environments may cause carbon ribbon to become damp, leading to ink smudging, weak label adhesion, and other issues; Low humidity environments may generate static electricity, attract dust, and thus affect the performance of carbon ribbons. When transporting in humid weather or regions, desiccants can be placed inside the packaging to absorb excess moisture. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid contact between the carbon ribbon and water sources, such as rainwater and accumulated water in transportation vehicles.
4、 Avoid direct sunlight
The ultraviolet rays in sunlight can cause damage to the ink and substrate of wax based carbon ribbons, leading to fading and aging of the ribbons. Therefore, direct sunlight should be avoided during transportation, and covered transportation methods such as enclosed trucks and containers can be chosen. If there is a lot of dust inside the transportation vehicle, a dust-proof cloth can be covered on the box for packaging carbon tape.
5、 Handling and loading/unloading
Handle with care: When handling wax based carbon ribbon, handle it with care to avoid severe vibration and collision. Because the ink coating and base tape inside the carbon ribbon are relatively fragile, severe vibration may cause the ink layer to peel off, the base tape to deform or break.
Correct operation: When loading and unloading barcode ribbons, follow the correct direction and sequence. For rolled carbon ribbon, it is necessary to keep the scroll level, avoid tilting or placing it vertically, and prevent the carbon ribbon from loosening or deforming inside the packaging.
Reasonable stacking: When placing the carbon ribbon on the transportation vehicle, ensure that it is placed firmly and stacked reasonably with other goods to avoid crushing the carbon ribbon. If transported together with other equipment or materials, the wax based carbon ribbon should be separated from sharp, rough, or corrosive items to prevent the ribbon from being scratched, worn, or corroded.
In summary, wax based carbon ribbons need to pay attention to packaging protection, reinforcement and buffering, temperature and humidity control, avoiding direct sunlight, and handling and loading during transportation. Only by ensuring that these requirements are met can the quality and performance of wax based carbon ribbons during transportation be effectively guaranteed.
