The printing temperature has a significant impact on the printing effect of wax based carbon ribbon, mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1、 Clarity
Low temperature: If the printing temperature is set too low, the wax based carbon ribbon may not fully melt, causing ink to not be evenly transferred to the printing medium, resulting in blurry or unclear printed text or images.
Moderate temperature: When the printing temperature is set within an appropriate range, the wax based carbon ribbon can be uniformly melted and smoothly transferred to the printing medium, thereby achieving clear and sharp printing effects.
High temperature: Although increasing the printing temperature can enhance the melting effect of wax based carbon ribbon, excessive temperature may also cause the carbon ribbon to melt excessively, resulting in adhesion or blurring of printed content.
2、 Durability
Low temperature: When the temperature is too low, the wax based carbon ribbon may not be able to form a strong bond with the printing medium, resulting in easy detachment or wear of the printed content.
Moderate temperature: Appropriate printing temperature can form a good bond between wax based carbon ribbon and printing medium, thereby improving the durability of printed content.
High temperature: Although excessive printing temperature can enhance adhesion, it may also cause deformation or damage to the printing medium, thereby affecting durability.
3、 Printing speed
Low temperature: When the temperature is too low, the melting rate of wax based carbon ribbon slows down, which may take longer to complete the printing task, thereby reducing printing efficiency.
Moderate temperature: Appropriate printing temperature can ensure that the wax based carbon ribbon melts and transfers to the printing medium within a reasonable time, thereby achieving efficient printing.
High temperature: Although increasing the printing temperature can accelerate the melting rate of wax based carbon ribbon, excessive temperature may also cause overheating or damage to the print head, which can actually reduce printing efficiency.
4、 Consumption of carbon ribbon and print head
Low temperature: When the temperature is too low, the wax based carbon ribbon may not fully melt, causing the print head to require greater pressure to complete the printing task, thereby increasing the wear and consumption of the print head.
Moderate temperature: An appropriate printing temperature can ensure good contact between the wax based carbon ribbon and the print head during the melting process, thereby reducing wear and consumption of the print head.
High temperature: Excessive printing temperature may cause the print head to overheat or be damaged, thereby increasing the cost of replacement and maintenance.
Therefore, in order to achieve the best printing effect, users need to set the printing temperature reasonably according to the type of wax based carbon ribbon used, printing medium, and specific printing requirements. Usually, the default temperature of the machine is 10 degrees, and users can optimize the printing effect by adjusting the temperature option in the printer settings. For wax based carbon ribbons, the appropriate printing temperature is usually lower, for example, in some machines with 0 to 20 degree temperature options, a wax based printing temperature of around 8 degrees may be more suitable. However, please note that the specific printing temperature needs to be fine tuned according to factors such as printer model, ribbon type, and printing medium.
